Meet Sarge! Sarge is a lover boy, 2-3 year old, somewhat petite at 24 pounds, fiest/hound breed. He is housebroken, stays out of things even when unattended, and loves everyone! He does well with other dogs, but did display dominance issues with his previous foster’s male dog. My two dogs are female, and beyond a quick skirmish over a toy, they’ve been fine together. He’s also been here with a 5 month old male (maybe his son) and they play together very well. Sarge is as laid back as they come. He just wants loves and pets, and will shadow his people from room to room. He has some basic commands like ‘sit’ but I haven’t worked with him much, mainly just on ‘off’ because he does like to jump up on you. However, given his desire to please and easygoing demeanor, I believe he’d learn whatever you put the effort in to teach him. He sleeps in his bed alongside mine (but I’m sure he’d love to be invited into bed with his human!) and just goes with the flow. He also does well in the car and seems to enjoy car rides. He has had no issues with the kittens I am fostering, but they are tiny so not sure about a full grown cat. He alert barks, but obeys commands to stop, and is friendly with anyone he meets. I haven’t had an opportunity to test him with kids, but my guess is he would be fine with any well trained human pups (jk). He would be a great companion for an individual, or blend in with almost any family. Just a good, good boy!
