Abby is an Australian Shepherd mix and has just about the softest, most beautiful coat I have ever felt. I could pet her for hours… and I believe she would let me. Abby appears to be completely deaf; however, she does not let that stop her from learning very quickly with hand signs and she has learned several  commands during her time in the prison training program. She has a special collar that she understands what it means when it is used.( full explanation will be provide when adopted)Due to her very high energy it may be best for no small children or toddlers as she could knock them over while playing. Abby is looking for a special family with a lot of love and compassion, she is not aggressive in any way. She is a perfect mix of a sweet-natured love bug with an abundance of playful energy. She does have a lot of energy, she will need a family that has a lot of energy and play time to help her with her abundance of energy. She loves people once she gets to know them and once she attaches you will have a loyal friend for life. Abby is housebroken and leash-trained. She LOVES to fetch, she loves to play with toys, and she loves to chew. She will need sturdy chew toys on hand. True to her breed, she likes to be busy and likes to be with her family so boredom, too much inactivity, or long periods left alone will most certainly lead to mischief. She is crate trained and will sleep all night in her crate.  She should be crated when unattended.  Abby gets along well with other dogs and loves to play and romp with other fur babies . She got along well with the cat in her foster home but also enjoyed chasing him once in a while when she wants to play... no aggression, just playful chasing. She is a puppy, after all! When she is excited and playing with her fur sisters, her bark gets loud but this has been improving the longer she has been with her foster family.  She also barks to let you know something is going on outside she thinks you should know about. Abby is a sweet, curious, intelligent, and playful pup who has been a joy to have in our home as a foster and will make a wonderful addition to your family.
