“He is easy to love.” These are the words of the man who knows Buck best, "This dog is a FUNNY, LOVABLE, and AFFECTIONATE friend. He loves to eat, chill, and take short walks. Buck is a special dog and a real delight.” His handler goes on to tell us that Buck is lazy when inside yet excitable when outdoors, especially in snow. He will stretch out on the furniture with you one minute, then will eat snow and chase snowballs the next. Buck came to us underweight and sick with heartworm disease. Look at this handsome fella now! **He is a survivor**Buck has been in the DASH training prison program for a while now where he has learned his basic house manners and beyond. This good ole boy is housebroken and leash-trained. He is not a fan of crates but that is ok because he does fine on his own. He has done well learning “sit, stay, down, free, leave it and wait.” He is especially good when food is involved (me too Buck, meee tooo). Buck loves all people. He is also good with dogs even though at times he likes his space and time to himself. Therefore, Buck would be good in a home with dogs but would also be fine being the only companion. Buck has not been cat-tested, so proper introductions are imperative. Buck has a stubborn streak at times but this is balanced out by his desire to please his person. He is just an all-around good dog. Buck is a big boy with a big heart, waiting to find his family. He has waited longer than necessary. It is time he finds his place sprawled out beside you, next to your chair, at your feet, or on your couch. Let’s get him there. Note: Buck is part of our Foster to Adopt program. Apply now if you are interested in testing how he would acclimate in your home*
