Meet Nia! If you become Nia's favorite person, there are few dogs as loving as her. She appreciates a second chance at life from a difficult past. At first, Nia is a little slow warming up, but after a short while, she will be your best friend. She becomes velcro with the people she likes. Nia is smart, friendly, housebroken, and has a love for life. Even as a mature girl, she's playful and athletic. She recently finished her treatment for heartworm disease and had been cleared for adoption. She will need some minor follow-up and blood work at the end of June. If the potential adopter can travel to Lancaster Ohio, there are funds to cover this that can be discussed with her foster mom. Nia has an Alpha personality and should not go to a home with another Alpha dog. She does well with other submissive dogs. She is food aggressive, so is fed in another room. She likes cats, but will sometimes chase them in fun. She did well with children over 3, but has not been tested with babies or toddlers.
