About DASH

DASH is a non-profit organization dedicated solely to the health and well-being of animals. We  rescue dogs, cats, horses, and other companion animals. Some of these animals are surrendered by owners struggling with financial issues, health issues, and broken homes. We also rescue from full high-kill shelters where most animals are on their last day, considered "unadoptable" due to the need for expensive medical care or struggling with behavioral issues due to the stress of shelter life.  We bring them back to health, spay and neuter them, and bring them up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations. We are dedicated to finding each one of them a new, loving, FOREVER home. Our application process is extensive so that we can ensure that our rescue animals will be given love, shelter, and consistent vet care throughout their lives.

We are a group of volunteers who foster in private homes. Some of our dogs are in our prison training program where each dog is assigned a handler to work 1-on-1 with them. Handlers work diligently to teach their dogs basic commands, socialization, and well… how to be a dog.  Don’t worry, it’s not all work. There is plenty of play, bonding and belly rubs well!   Because DASH does not have a facility, our communication is done through email.  We always make our best effort to respond to emails in a timely manner, but please understand in addition to volunteering, we are juggling work, and family life too.

Adoption fees vary and are listed on each animal’s webpage. The adoption fees help cover a portion of vetting expenses, medications, altering and so much more. Adoption fees "pay it forward" to help us rescue more animals in need.
