Learn more about the Saint Bernard.
Meet Cletus This sweet baby came from poor conditions. He was found abandoned with a sibling and in bad shape by a local sheriff in a downtown area. Their hair was in such bad shape they had to be shaved and they were under weight. He will need daily grooming. He loves being loved. He would do best in a home with a 6ft high fence, teenage children, and the only pet! He's not good with small including but not limited to small dogs and cats. He is big and can knock down small children. He is house trained, will go to the door and let you know. He can pull hard when walking on a leash. If walked he would need someone that can handle his strength while he continues to learn his leash manners to ensure he does not pull away. This cutie loves his routine and get fed twice a day and always know when it’s time to eat and he loves to remind you it’s time. He has lots of love to give! Cletus is crate trained and does great. We would not recommend food left on the tables or counters, because of his size he will just walk up and take it. He does seem to be suffering from anxiety and would need an adopter that is home most of the of the time and someone with extra large breed dog experience. He really needs someone that understands that he is a rescue, someone with patience while he learns he's safe and can trust not to be abandoned again. He's more trusting of females but will warm up to men if given the chance. If you think your home can help this furbaby get over his neglected life and give him the life he has always deserved please fill out an application!
